The Weald Of Sussex Art Club
The Club was formed in 1947 as the Burgess Hill Art Club but its success and reputation soon extended beyond the town’s boundaries, as did its membership. By the early 1960’s almost half the membership lived outside the town, prompting a decision to change the club’s name to The Weald of Sussex Art Club. Today it has more than 140 members. The majority live in the towns and villages of Mid Sussex – particularly Burgess Hill, Hassocks and Haywards Heath – although some of our members come from further afield; Brighton and Hove, Newhaven, Shoreham by Sea, Uckfield and Worthing.
